2017 IIHS Top Safety Pick Plus Awards for 3 Mazda vehicles

Each year, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) evaluates vehicles across the industry based on a number of safety tests, This year, three Mazda vehicles–the CX-3, Mazda3, and Mazda6–earned Top Safety Pick+ awards, and here’s why.

IIHS Top Safety Pick+ Evaluation and Testing

In order to be considered a Top Safety Pick+, vehicles must earn at least a Good rating for the following evaluations: small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side, roof strength, and head restraint. They must also get either Advanced or Superior ratings for front crash prevention and pass comprehensive headlight evaluations. In the end, the Mazda CX-3, Mazda3, and Mazda6 made quite an impression to receive an award that gets more competitive with each passing year.Mazda safety technology
