2017 Mazda CX-3 Off-Road Capability
Despite the compact crossover’s recent success, many folks still aren’t completely sold on their off-road capability. We’re out to prove the 2017 Mazda CX-3 off-road capability is for real! Whether you’re driving on a snowy Alaskan highway or a rainy New Hampshire road, i-ACTIV AWD® is designed to seamlessly transfer power to axles that need it most, providing more peace of mind driving on snowy surfaces and extra grip on dry roads.
Every Mazda CX-3 model will feature the same, spirited 146-horsepower SKYACTIV-G 2.0-liter engine that pairs with an automatic transmission. Power can be routed through the front wheels for better fuel economy or through four-wheels with i-ACTIV all-wheel drive.
The Mazda CX-3 took on some of the most-capable vehicles in its segment head-to-head in an off-road competition at the Northwest Automotive Press Association’s annual Mudfest off-road event. With its predictive i-ACTIV all-wheel drive, the Mazda CX-3 was able to react to road conditions with ease and shift power output before the driver can even detect a change.
