Portsmouth NH Area Food Pantry Locations

Now that the calendar has turned to November, people are invariably beginning to think about their upcoming Thanksgiving feasts. But it’s also important to remember the people in our area who aren’t going to have enough food for Thanksgiving – or for any other day of the year. So in the spirit of the season, we thought we’d put the spotlight on a few of the organizations in the Portsmouth area that make it their mission to make sure everyone has enough to eat. We’re blessed to have a number of food pantries throughout Portsmouth. And while we’re only listing three here, every one of the others deserve our appreciation and support as well. So let’s join together and make sure everyone in our community has enough food to enjoy Thanksgiving and beyond.

Seacoast Family Food Pantry

The Seacoast Family Food Pantry supports the entire Seacoast area, including Greenland, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Kittery (ME), New Castle, Newington, North Hampton, Portsmouth, Rye, Seabrook and Stratham. But they need our support if they’re going to succeed in their mission. And while food donations are always needed, it’s important to remember that donations of time and money are just as valuable.

Operation Blessing

Operation Blessing takes the idea of a food pantry one step further. Not only do they provide food to those in need, they also provide furniture, clothing and household necessities. They give out as much as 2,000 pounds of food per week, so donations are always needed to keep up with the demand.

Salvation Army of Portsmouth

The Salvation Army of Portsmouth offers food, shelter, clothing and other emergency services to those who need it most during times when it seems like there’s no hope. Surely we’ve all given some spare change or a couple of dollars to the bell-ringers each year, but let’s not forget there’s so much more we can do. The Salvation Army of Portsmouth is always looking for volunteers and non-monetary donations, too.

You no doubt are beginning to plan out your Thanksgiving festivities. Just make sure helping those in need is part of that plan because, really, that’s what this time of year is all about. And if you find yourself in need of any automotive services while you’re out and about, just contact our friendly Seacoast Mazda staff and we’ll get you squared away.
