Other convenience features include power windows with one-touch up and down, remote release for cargo access, an integrated key/remote, a proximity key, two USB ports, and a valet function. Optional features include a navigation system, an ashtray, remote engine start, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Safety features included on the base model Mazda3 include three-point seatbelts for all passenger positions, seatbelt pre-tensioners, traction control, an immobilizer, brake assistance, a panic alarm, remote keyless entry, and eight airbags.

The 2019 Mazda3 starts at $21,920. Upgrading to the hatchback adds on $1,600, and upgrading to all-wheel drive adds on $1,400.

Select Trim

You may hear Select referred to as a trim level, or you may hear it referred to as a package to add to the base level. The Select trim is only available for the sedan, and it can come with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. The engine is the same as the base model, as there is only one engine option for the 2019 Mazda3, regardless of trim or other options. Fuel economy remains the same, as a result.

The exterior on the Select trim gets an upgrade with 18-inch wheels (from 16 inches), turn-signal indicators on the mirrors, power door mirrors, and a black grille. Inside, you get upgrades like leatherette upholstery, a leather- and metal-look shifter knob and steering wheel, leatherette door panel trim, and a leather dashboard.

The entertainment system also gets an upgrade with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Preferred Trim

The Preferred trim level is available for the both the sedan and the hatchback versions of the Mazda3, and you can get it in both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive for either option.

Exterior and interior design on the Preferred trim level is the same as with the Select trim. You do get more lumbar support on the front seats, as well as heated front seats, but other features remain the same.

The entertainment system on the Preferred trim level gets a big upgrade with a 12-speaker Bose audio system and satellite radio. Other convenience features added at the Preferred trim level include door mirror memory and memory seats. Safety features are the same as those offered on the Select trim level.

The Preferred trim for the 2019 Mazda3 starts at $25,120.

Premium Trim

The Premium trim is the luxury trim for the Mazda3, and it shows. This trim level is available for both the sedan and hatchback and in front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.

Exterior upgrades include LED headlights and tail lights, as well as a sunroof. Inside, you get full leather upholstery, paired with all the beautiful interior upgrades from the previous trim level.

You get all the premium entertainment features available from the previous trim levels. Additional convenience features include a heads up driver display and a manual sunshade.
