At the last Los Angeles Auto Show, Mazda announced it will offer the SKYACTIV-D 2.2 clean diesel engine in the new 2017 Mazda CX-5. The Mazda CX-5’s SKYACTIV-D 2.2 clean diesel engine is engineered to deliver a torque-rich driving experience that is able to rev to high RPMs with ease as well as meet rigorous emissions standards. The end result is a Mazda crossover that is one of the most fuel-efficient models in its class. The Mazda diesel engine also comes with Natural Sound Smoother and Natural Sound Frequency Control, which reduces diesel knock for a quieter ride.
Mazda’s new clean diesel engine is expected to be available in CX-5 models during the second half of 2017, giving drivers a more fuel-efficient alternative to the standard gasoline powertrain.
