Every 2020 Mazda3 comes with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that gives you 186-horsepower. This engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, and it provides you with some great fuel economy.

The 2020 Mazda3 is available in a Sedan and Hatchback version, and there are multiple trim level options for you to choose from. If you want to learn more about what each trim offers you, you can check out the information below.

2020 MAZDA3 SEDAN

The Mazda3 Sedan is a great compact car option. This vehicle offers you a lot, and below, we are going to get into the specific features offered on each trim. Now, we can mention a few features that are specific to the Sedan on every trim level. One is that this vehicle gives you approximately 27 city and 36 highway miles per gallon. Another is that the Sedan gives you 13.2 cubic feet of cargo space in the trunk.

BASE

The Base trim for the Mazda3 Sedan is going to be your most affordable option. When you step inside the Mazda3, you get seating for five on cloth sport seats. You have a remote keyless entry system and a push-button start.

This trim gives you a lot of great technology features standard. You get Bluetooth, two USB ports, an eight-speaker stereo, and an 8.8-inch infotainment system standard. You also get safety technology features like lane keep assist, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, driver condition monitor, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, a rearview camera, and rain-sensing windshield wipers.

This Base option gives you a lot for your money. You have a lot of safety features standard, and plenty of technology to keep you connected.

SELECT

With the Select trim, you get all the features included in the base model, but you also get some additional features. First, some of the interior touches will be different in the Select trim. This trim offers you synthetic leather seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. You also get additional technology and safety features like Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, blind spot monitoring, and rear cross traffic alert.

Many people choose the Select trim because they want the extra connectivity of having Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, but this trim also adds a few safety features.

PREFERRED

With the 2020 Mazda3 Preferred, you add some features to make your driving experience more luxurious. This trim gives you a 12-speaker premium Bose stereo, as well as heated front seats. You also get an eight-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, Sirius XM satellite radio, and an overhead console. On the outside, you get a few features like power side mirrors with integrated turn signals, a roof-mounted shark-fin antenna, and an aluminum speaker grille.

The Preferred trim is a great option if you are looking for some exterior upgrades and a higher-class interior.

PREMIUM

The Mazda3 Premium is your highest trim option. This will have all the features listed above plus some additional features. The Premium trim gives you leather-trimmed seats and a power sliding-glass moonroof. For safety, you get an adaptive front-lighting system, a windshield projected active driving display, and signature LED headlights and taillights. The Mazda3 Premium also gives you 18-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. If you want it all, the Premium trim is a great option for you!

2020 MAZDA3 HATCHBACK

The Mazda3 Hatchback has only three different trim levels instead of the four offered in the sedan. The hatchback version does not have a Select trim, but the base trim for the Mazda3 Hatchback mirrors the Select trim in the sedan. This means your base Mazda3 Hatchback offers you synthetic leather seats, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 8.8-inch infotainment system, and a ton of safety features including blind spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert.

That being said, the Mazda3 Hatchback will start off slightly more expensive than the sedan version, and every trim of the Hatchback will be about one thousand dollars more than the Mazda3 Sedan. With the Hatchback, you have the same features offered on the Preferred and Premium trims as the sedan version, except for one thing. The Mazda3 Hatchback Premium trim is the only trim where you can get the optional manual transmission; this is not available on the Sedan.

There are a couple of other differences between the Sedan and Hatchback versions of the Mazda3. One of these is fuel economy. These vehicles have the same engine, but the Hatchback earns slightly different fuel efficiency with 25 city and 35 highway miles per gallon. The cargo space is another difference. In the Mazda3 Sedan, you get a 13.2 cubic-foot trunk, but the Hatchback offers you 20.1 cubic feet of cargo space.

WHICH TRIM IS RIGHT FOR YOU?

When choosing the 2020 Mazda3 trim level that is right for you, you should first think about whether you want the Sedan or the Hatchback. Both of these models are great, but they provide you with a different look. They also provide you with different cargo space; the Mazda3 Hatchback offers you more cargo space.

Once you determine whether the Sedan or Hatchback is right for you, you can take a look at each trim offered and what features it gives you. The base models in both versions of this vehicle offer you plenty of technology features and a lot of safety features standard. However, if you are looking to get Apple CarPlay and Android Auto in your 2020 Mazda3 Sedan, you have to upgrade to the Select trim. The higher-level Preferred and Premium trims give you more upscale interiors and even more features, so if you are looking to have all the features you can, you will want to go with one of those.

The 2020 Mazda3 is a great vehicle. This vehicle is fun to drive, and there are a lot of great features to be found here. If you still have questions about which trim is right for you, you can reach out to us at Seacoast Mazda because we would be happy to help you.
