2023 Mazda CX-30 Trim Levels and Specs

2023 Mazda CX-30 in the 2.5 S trim

There’s no doubt that the Mazda CX-30 is an outstanding compact crossover that’s reliable and exciting to drive. But while there’s no denying it’s a great vehicle, there’s a pretty big variation between trim levels.

You don’t want to think you’re getting something you’re not, and you don’t want to overpay for features you don’t care about. Just keep reading and we’ll break down all the different features that come with each of the Mazda CX-30 trims.

2023 MAZDA CX-30 TRIM LEVELS

The Mazda CX-30 comes with seven different trim levels you’ll need to pick from. While that’s quite a few trim levels, it gives you the ultimate flexibility to find exactly what you’re looking for.

2.5 S

The 2.5 S is Mazda’s base trim level for the CX-30, but it still comes packed full of features we’re sure you’ll love. It comes standard with an 8-speaker sound system that pairs with the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay interface for a premium road trip sound experience.

Standard technological features include Mazda’s Radar Cruise Control with Stop and Go Technology, a 12-volt power outlet, 2 USB audio inputs, and an 8.8” center display. Furthermore, there are rain-sensing variable-intermittent windshield wipers and automatic on/off headlights.

Finally, since Mazda doesn’t compromise on security regardless of the trim level there are tons of standard safety features with the 2.5 S. These include a lane departure warning system, lane keeping assist, a driver attention alert system, smart brake support, and a rearview monitor that shows you everything behind your vehicle when you’re backing up.

2.5 S Select

With so many standard features on the 2.5 S, Mazda has to up their game to get you to consider upgrading to the 2.5 S Select – and they don’t disappoint. The 2.5 S Select comes with everything the 2.5 S has, and there are some notable upgrades.

You can see a difference before you ever even enter the vehicle with three additional exterior color options, roof rails, rear privacy glass, side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and larger 18” wheels.

But the differences don’t stop with the exterior. The black cloth interior gets an upgrade to black leatherette, and there’s a leather wrapped-steering wheel and gear selector. In addition, there’s a rear center armrest and the rear of the vehicle gets its own air-conditioning vents.

The climate control system now uses a dual-zone setup, and perhaps the most noticeable difference for this Mazda CX-30 trim is the addition of blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alerts. It’s a huge safety feature that many drivers are willing to upgrade for.

2.5 S Preferred

The 2.5 S Preferred is a step up from the 2.5 S Select, and one of the first things you’ll notice at this trim level is the addition of the power sliding moonroof. It works with a one-touch design for opening and closing, and it’s a premium feature you can’t get at lower trim levels.

But while that’s the most noticeable difference at first glance, it’s not the only thing the 2.5 S Preferred comes with that you can’t get with the Select. Other notable differences include the heated front seats and the 8-way driver’s seat.

You also get a bit more storage space with an overhead console with a sunglass holder that you can’t get at other trim levels. Finally, while you can still get the black leatherette interior, you can also go with a greige leatherette interior if you’d prefer.

2.5 S Carbon Edition

The 2.5 S Carbon Edition stands out in several aspects as a unique option among the Mazda CX-30 trims. First, it comes with everything the 2.5 S Preferred comes with as far as technological and comfort features, but there are a few notable differences with the appearance.

First, you can only get the 2.5 S Carbon Edition with the Polymetal Gray Metallic exterior. This color option isn’t available again until the 2.5 Turbo Premium and 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus trim levels. Moreover, this is the only trim level with a red leather interior.

Finally, while most of the differences with the 2.5 S Carbon Edition refer to the exterior, there is one functional difference – the heated side mirrors.

2.5 S Premium

The 2.5 S Premium jumps back into the regular trim level side of things, coming with everything the 2.5 S Preferred has and then some. But all the additional features from the 2.5 S Carbon Edition are gone – including the heated side mirrors.

But while the heated side mirrors are gone at this trim level, it comes with plenty of other features. You get to pick between a black leather or a white leather interior, and it comes with a Mazda navigation system integrated into the center display.

There’s also a full-color windshield-projected Active Driving Display, and it’s the first trim level with traffic sign recognition that helps ensure you never miss a thing on the road.

Finally, an adaptive front lighting system starts at this trim level, and it’s the first trim level to include a rear power liftgate.

2.5 Turbo Premium

The big upgrade with the 2.5 Turbo Premium is right in the name - turbo. It’s the same engine, but with a turbocharger, the horsepower goes from 191 up to 250 for a far more responsive drive.

But while the performance side of things is a big upgrade, that’s not all you get by upgrading to the 2.5 Turbo Premium. The sound system goes from 8 speakers to 12 with a Bose sound system. The heated side mirrors from the Carbon Edition are back, as is a heated steering wheel.

It’s also the first trim level to include a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror.

2.5 Turbo Premium Plus

The 2.5 Turbo Premium Plus is the fully loaded CX-30 and it comes with everything you’d expect on a top-of-the-line vehicle. It has everything the 2.5 Turbo Premium has, and then Mazda adds some premium technological features.

The exterior driver-side mirror utilizes an auto-dimming feature to match the conditions, and the rearview monitor now has a 360-degree system so you can see everything around your vehicle. It also has front and rear parking sensors, smart brake support when backing up, and a traffic jam assist feature which helps you stay on wide open roads.
