For the 2024 model year, the Mazda CX-5 continues with little change from the refresh last seen in 2022. 

Powertrain

The CX-5 is fitted with Mazda's Skyactiv-G, four-cylinder 2.5-liter, double overhead cam (DOHC) gasoline engine that produces 187 horsepower @ 6,000 rpm and 185 lb pound-feet of torque @ 4,000. 

For enhanced fuel economy, Mazda's SKYACTIV technology equips this alloy power unit with cylinder deactivation and Mazda's i-Stop.

The CX-5 makes use of a SKYACTIV-Drive, 6-speed automatic transmission featuring a manual shift and sport mode, sending power to all four corners through the i-Active AWD drivetrain.

When it's time to do some towing of the family boat or trailer, the CX-5, when fitted with a genuine Mazda towing package available at dealer level, can tow up to an impressive 2,000 pounds.

Dodgy on-road manners on any vehicle being test-driven can be a potential deal breaker. With this in mind, Mazda's design team set out to build and sell the CX-5 into a crossover SUV that offers an elevated driving experience.

To ensure precise and dependable braking, Mazda has kitted out the CX-5 S Select AWD with diagonal hydraulic braking featuring 4-wheel discs, a 4-channel system with electronic brakeforce distribution, and brake assist. The vented front brake discs measure 11.7 inches, and the rear solid discs measure 11.9 inches. 

The Mazda CX-5 S Select AWD offers athletic on-road handling made possible by Mazda's engineers equipping the CX-5 with steering that features an electrically assisted power rack-and-pinion steering with variable assist that provides precise steering and sharp and communicative cornering. Standard G-Vectoring Control Plus responds to driver steering inputs, assisting with gentle engine and braking adjustments to help drivers when conditions may get a bit tricky.

For soaking up bumps and humps on uneven rough roads, the CX-5 has been appointed with four-wheel independent suspension featuring a front suspension of MacPherson struts with a stabilizer bar and, at the rear, a multi-link suspension setup with a stabilizer bar.

The CX-5 S Select is fitted with a 15.3-gallon fuel tank and weighs in with a curb weight of 3,783 pounds.

The 2024 Mazda CX-5 S Select AWD shows off Mazda's attractive Kodo "soul of motion" design language, sporting a total body length of 181 inches and body panels made of fully galvanized steel to ensure the rust-free longevity of your CX-5.

The 2024 CX-5 sees front-end lighting treatments featuring standard automatic on/off LED projector headlights with auto leveling and high beam control, LED daytime running lights and at the rear LED tail lights.

The CX-5 cabin design prioritizes the driver, and all controls are within easy reach. The stylish interior features black leatherette trimmed seats with a heated 6-way power adjustable driver seat and a 6-way manual heated front passenger's seat. All seating positions feature adjustable headrests, with the front seats offering a heating feature with 3-level adjustment. 

The driver gets a leather-wrapped gear selector and leather-wrapped steering wheel with the steering wheel featuring conveniently placed audio, phone, and cruise controls. The steering column features a tilt & telescopic function to ensure the driver finds the perfect driving position.

Facing the driver is an instrument cluster with a speedometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge, all with a classic-looking black background with white lettering and finished in a metal look silver surround.

The trunk sees fitment of cargo space lights to assist loading at night.

Infotainment 

The CX-5 S Select boasts a 10.25-inch infotainment display controlled through a rotary controller and volume knob on the center console. The system's interface also operates through voice commands and the controls on the steering wheel. Standard fitment of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as Mazda Connected Services, allows remote access to vehicle functions via a smartphone app and a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot.

The infotainment system also offers:
