2024 GMC Terrain
GMC's smallest SUV offering, the GMC Terrain, continues for the 2024 model year with the same trim levels as 2023. The 2024 models do, however, come in an additional two new paint colors.
For those who are wondering about the nameplate, The Terrain will not be discontinued by GMC any time soon as GMC has announced its plans to introduce the next new generation of their Terrain compact crossover in 2025.
The current lineup includes SLE, SLT, AT4 and feature-rich Denali trim.

The 2024 CX-5's sleek and elegant exterior design shows off restyled bumpers and tailgate with new-look headlights and tail lights from the 2022 upgrade.
Standout exterior features include a roof-mounted "shark fin" antenna, body-colored rear roof spoiler, dual exhaust outlets and rear privacy glass.
All CX-5 trim levels benefit from the fitment of alloy rims that range from 17 inches to 19 inches, and buyers get to choose from seven available exterior colors.
The GMC Terrain which happens to be the corporate cousin of the Chevrolet Equinox, was recently freshened with some exterior updates plus the addition of the more adventurous and outdoor oriented AT4 trim.
Key exterior features on the GMC Terrain are signature GMC C-shaped LED lighting, an acoustic laminated windshield, automatic on/off headlamps, body-color door handles and deep-tinted rear glass.
All GMC Terrain trims are fitted with alloy wheels of 17 inches to 19 inches with differing finishes.

The sleek CX-5's sophisticated cabin places controls within easy reach of the driver, and a leather-wrapped gear selector and leather-wrapped steering wheel are standard, along with audio, phone, and cruise controls.
The classic black gauges with white lettering are finished in a metal-look silver surround and feature a speedometer, tachometer, and fuel gauge. The dashboard also features an ambient temperature and clock display, plus a 4.6-inch Multi-Information Display with a trip computer.
Standard are black leatherette-trimmed seats with a heated 6-way power-adjustable driver seat and a 6-way manual heated front passenger seat. Upper trims get an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat. All occupants get adjustable headrests, and the front seats are heated with 3-level adjustment.
A 10.25-inch full-color display is standard fare, and the Mazda Connect infotainment system is accessed via the center console-mounted rotary controller and volume knob. AppleCarPlay and Android Auto integration are standard.
The GMC Terrain has a spacious and accommodating cabin. Drivers get a push-button shifter and a 4-way manual driver seat with manual recline with the front passenger getting the same treatment. Two way adjustable front head restraints are found on the front bucket seats and power windows are fitted all round with driver express-up/down.
A 4.2-inch multi-color driver information screen does duty, as well as a 7-inch GMC Infotainment System that offers a 6-speaker audio system and Bluetooth connectivity. Charging-only USB ports are standard, plus a compass display.

The2024 CX-5's cargo area accommodates a handy EPA cargo volume of 30.9 cubic feet in the trunk space which grows up to 59.3 cubic feet of luggage when the 60/40-split rear seats are folded down aided by a completely flat cargo floor.
The GMC Terrain offers 29.6 cubic feet of cargo loading space behind the rear seats and a maximum of 63.3 cubic feet once the standard 60/40 split-folding rear seats are folded down. A manual liftgate is standard, with the option of a hands-free power liftgate.
Engine and Performance Differences
TheMazda CX-5 is available with two engines: a normally aspirated four-cylinder 2.5-liter Skyactiv engine making 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque and a turbo-boosted 2.5-liter engine that produces 256 horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque.
A six-speed automatic transmission is standard across the range, and the iActiv all-wheel drive system offers some useful off-road capabilities.
The 2024 GMC Terrain is fitted as standard with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 175 horsepower and 203 pound-feet of torque.
Power is sent through the standard nine-speed automatic transmission to the front wheels, with an all-wheel drive an available option.
Safety and Technology Differences
The 2024 Mazda CX-5 was awarded a 2023 IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK award.
