What’s New for the 2024 Model?
For the 2024 Mazda CX-5, there are a couple of improvements for this model year. This vehicle does have slightly better fuel economy than the previous model year. This vehicle also now offers body cladding to match the body paint color. There is also a standard 10.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system that is standard on all trims. In addition, wireless charging is standard on more trim options this year than last year. Performance and Engine Options
First, let’s take a look at the performance of this SUV. The Mazda CX-5 has two different engine options and some other exciting performance features that you can check out below.
2.5-liter four-cylinder engine – This is your base engine for the 2024 Mazda CX-5. The 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine gives you 187-horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. This engine is slightly improved from the previous year with i-Stop auto start and stop to improve the fuel economy. The 2024 model now offers you 26 city and 31 highway miles per gallon, as opposed to the previous 24 city and 31 highway miles per gallon.
Turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine – This turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine produces 256-horsepower and 320 pound-feet of torque. This engine gives you around 22 city and 27 highway miles per gallon.
Both of these engines are paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. This vehicle also offers you standard i-Activ all-wheel drive on all models to give you the ability to take on tough terrain. There is also available Mazda Intelligent Drive Select technology that allows you to choose from several custom drive modes. You can choose drive modes like Normal, Sport, and Off-Road to tailor your performance for your needs. This vehicle can also tow up to 2,000 pounds when it is properly equipped.
Exterior
The 2024 Mazda CX-5 measures 180 inches in length, 72.6 inches in width, and about 66 inches in height. This vehicle is in the compact SUV class. 
On the exterior of the 2024 CX-5, you can find features like LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED combination tail lights, automatic high-beam control, and an adaptive front-lighting system. This vehicle comes with features like a rearview camera, blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane departure warning, lane keep assist, forward collision warning, pedestrian detection, forward automatic emergency braking, automatic high-beam headlights, and adaptive cruise control. You also have available features like parking sensors, a surround-view parking camera, reverse collision warning, traffic sign recognition, adaptive pivoting headlights, driver attention monitoring, and a head-up display.
Automatic high-beam headlights – This feature will automatically turn on and off your high-beam headlights based on if there is a vehicle approaching. This is safer for you and the other driver and more convenient because you do not have to worry about doing it yourself.

2024 CX-5 Trim Options
There are eight trim options in the 2024 Mazda CX-5 that all offer you slightly different features. If you are looking to upgrade, you will want to determine which features are most important to you so that you can get what you need.
The first decision you will have to make is which engine you want. There are six different trims with the base engine, including the 2.5 S, 2.5 S Select, 2.5 S Preferred, 2.5 S Carbon Edition, 2.5 S Premium, 2.5 S Carbon Edition, and 2.5 S Premium Plus. The base trim still has a ton of great features to offer you, but each trim usually adds on more. The Carbon Edition is mainly focused on exterior style features and some interior touches.
There are only two trims with the turbocharged engine. These trims are the 2.5 Turbo and 2.5 Turbo Signature. These are some of the higher level trims so they offer you a ton of great features, as well as the turbocharged engine option.
