The current fourth-generation model, designated ND, was introduced in 2014. The 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is available as a full convertible with a soft top or the RF version featuring a retractable hardtop.

What's new for 2024?
The joy of driving is guaranteed for the 2024 model year, and to this end, the Mazda MX-5 Miata features an updated power steering system and improves stability on the upper manual transmission trims through the fitment of an asymmetrical limited-slip differential.
Exterior tweaks include new exterior lighting elements, a refreshed front grille, and some new multi-spoke wheel designs. On the interior, a new 8.8-inch infotainment display has replaced the previous model year's 7.0-inch screen offering.
There are three trim levels carried over from the 2023 range: the Sport, Club, and the Grand Touring.
Powertrain
All models in the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata range are fitted with Mazda's SKYACTIV-G 2.0 DOHC 16-valve 4-cylinder VVT gasoline engine that pushes out 181 horsepower @ 7000 rpm and 151 pound-feet of torque @ 4,000 rpm. This fully aluminum alloy engine unit boasts a high compression ratio of 13:1 and a heady 7,500 rpm redline in keeping with the sporty nature of the Mazda MX-5 Miata.
As mentioned above, the 2024 Miata continues unchanged with the tried, trusted, and much-loved front midship engine layout, with power being sent to the rear wheels. Drive goes through either a Mazda SKYACTIV-MT 6-speed manual transmission with a short-throw shifter or the optional 6-speed Sport automatic transmission with a paddle shifter, which is available only on the Grand Touring trim.
All manual trims besides the Sport are fitted with an asymmetrical limited-slip differential that effectively brakes the inner-rear wheel whilst in high-g cornering maneuvers to maintain stability and traction.
Exterior
Mazda's Kodo design language is clearly evident in the compact, sleek design of the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata. The exterior design communicates Mazda's intended sense of fluid motion even whilst standing still at the traffic lights.
The relatively small Miata measures just 154.1 inches in length and offers a wheelbase of 90.9 inches. The Miata is 68.3 inches wide with a maximum height of 48.8 inches on the RF models. These compact dimensions translate into a relatively light curb weight, endowing the little roadster with nimble handling and a thrilling drive experience.
All 2024 models feature exterior trim highlights that include the new LED headlight with daytime running light (DRL) elements and new LED tail lights. The body-colored front bumper, rear bumper and door handles are standard across all trims.
The Miata range features an aluminum hood and aluminum trunk lid to assist in weight saving, and the convertible trims feature a black cloth convertible top.Available exterior paint colors for 2024 include Snowflake White Pearl, Zircon Sand Metallic, and a new shade of Aero Gray, or available Machine Grey Metallic or Soul Red Crystal Metallic, which are all extra charge paint options.
Interior and Infotainment
Kitted out with plentiful standard features, the cabin of the 2024 Mazda MX-5 Miata is a comfy place for both the driver and his sole passenger seated alongside. For 2024, the Miata receives extra padding to the center console along with a larger 8.8-inch infotainment display screen as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto touch functionality. The new Amazon Alexa voice-activated assistant is both convenient and safe, offering hands-free commands for the HVAC, radio, and any connected remote smart home devices.

Club
Adding to the already highly specced base Sport model, the Club trim, starting at $32,480 MSRP, adds sport-tuned suspension with Bilstein dampers, a front shock tower brace to increase chassis stiffness, and the aforementioned torque-sensing limited-slip rear differential.
The Club's exterior sees fitment of a black front air dam and black rear lip spoiler. Larger 17 x 7 aluminum alloy wheels finished in metallic black and running P205/45 R17 high-performance tires. The Club offers a trunk-mounted "shark fin" antenna.
On the interior, the black cloth-trimmed seats feature a suede insert with the seat back bar trim finished in piano black. The seats are heated with three heat settings, and the upper door trims are body-colored. Both seats are heated with three heat settings.
In-car Infotainment upgrades include a Bose 9-speaker audio system with AudioPilot, additional driver's and passenger's headrest speakers, plus a subwoofer. The AppleCarPlay is wirelessly accessible, and SiriusXM Satellite Radio is standard with a 3-month subscription.
Grand Touring
This range-topping trim starts at $32,480 MSRP, available as either a soft top or extra cost RF version and offers an optional 6-speed Sport automatic transmission along with paddle shifters, which dispense with the limited-slip differential.
The exterior enhancements include auto on/off headlights with adaptive front lighting and high beam control. Standards are the rain-sensing variable-intermittent windshield wipers and body-colored heated power side mirrors.
The Grand Touring is finished in a range of six exterior colors, and the 17 x 7 aluminum alloy wheels are finished in dark silver.
The Grand Touring interior trim adds black leather-trimmed seats or the extra-cost terracotta nappa leather option. Doorsill trim plates are now finished in black with stainless steel inserts, plus an auto-dimming rearview mirror is added. The climate control is automatic in the Grand Touring trim, and a frameless auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink has been added.
The Grand Touring trim adds to the Mazda navigation system a standard SiriusXM 3-year Traffic and Travel Link subscription to enable access to current traffic information, weather, sports scores, fuel prices, and even nearby parking or parking spots by destination.
