The EPA gave the same mileage estimates to all three trim levels in the 2018 Mazda CX-3’s lineup, though estimates do vary based on equipped drivetrain. Models equipped with 4WD offer an EPA-estimated fuel economy rating of 29/34 MPG city/highway, and models that have Mazda’s i-ACTIV AWD® system are estimated at 27/32 MPG city/highway. When determining just how far models can travel on one tank of gas, we also have to take fuel tank capacity into account. FWD models have a 12.7-gallon fuel tank, while i-ACTIV AWD® models can carry slightly less fuel, coming in at 11.9 gallons. Additionally, driving conditions need to be taken into account. Vehicles often get a lower city fuel rating than highway, but since no one feasibly drives solely on one or the other, we will use the combined fuel rating in our calculations.
