The wrench indicator lights up when the remaining oil life distance is 600 miles, so you’ll want to schedule a service appointment as soon as you can once the indicator light illuminates. If for any reason your Maintenance Monitor malfunctions or stops working, Mazda suggests changing your 2018 Mazda3’s engine oil every 7,500 miles, and the automaker warns against going longer than 12 months or 7,500 miles in between oil changes, as it can be very dangerous to the engine.
