Routine Vehicle Maintenance
In this section, you can get an overview of routine maintenance that should be performed on your vehicle. Below that, check out a timeline of Mazda recommended service to help you stay on top of those important milestones.
- Oil Change – Oil helps to lubricate your vehicle’s engine and prevent overheating. It also helps to remove dirt and other particles from your engine to keep it running smoothly. That is why it is important to get oil changes regularly. Changing your oil regularly will help your engine stay in good condition for longer. You generally need your oil changed between 5,000 and 7,500 miles, depending on your vehicle and the type of oil you use in it.
- Tire Rotation – Rotating your tires means changing the position of them on your vehicle. This is important because it helps your tires wear more evenly. It is also a good opportunity for your tires to be looked at and visually inspected for any damage or issues. You should rotate your tires every 7,500 miles.
- Replace Filters – You have air filters and oil filters in your vehicle and those need to be changed on a regular basis to keep your vehicle functioning as it needs to be. An air filter should be changed between 15,000 and 30,000 miles. Your oil filter is usually changed every time or every other time your oil gets changed.
- Check Engine Coolant – Your engine coolant should be checked/changed at 60,000 miles. Your engine coolant prevents your system from overheating, so it is not something you just want to ignore.
- General Vehicle Inspection – You also will need certain parts of your vehicle inspected and checked after a certain number of miles. These inspections can usually fit in when you are having an oil change or other routine maintenance, but it is important to get fuel lines, brake lines, steering systems, suspension, and spark plugs checked after you have put so many miles on your vehicle. Different parts can experience wear and tear after a lot of use.
Those are some of the main types of routine maintenance that need to happen on your vehicle. Below, you can check out a more specific timeline of what needs to happen when. It is a good idea to check where your mileage is at for your vehicle and make sure you are getting all the recommended service. Schedule Service Today!
