Rear brake pads are merely brake pads located at the rear of a vehicle’s brake system. Rear brake pads are also located at the rear axle that generally handles less weight than the front axle. The unequal distribution of weight across the front and rear axles cause the front and rear brake pads to wear down at different rates. As brake pads wear down, they usually function perfectly until the warning indicator strikes the rotor.
