The Brembo/BBS/Recaro package is the most serious factory option Mazda offers on the MX-5 — a dealer-installed-nothing, straight-from-Hiroshima performance group available only on the Club trim with the 6-speed manual. If you’ve seen a Club listed a few thousand above the others and wondered why, this is the package.

What’s in the package

• Brembo front brakes — fixed calipers and larger rotors for fade resistance in repeated hard stops. On track days at Club Motorsports, NHMS or Palmer, this is the difference you feel first.
• BBS forged 17-inch wheels — lighter than the standard Club wheels, reducing unsprung weight where a 2,300-lb car notices it most.
• Recaro sport seats — deeper bolsters that hold you in place under cornering load, heated, and trimmed to match the cabin.
• Plus rear aero elements and dark finishes that mark the car visually.

Why it’s manual-only

Mazda pairs the package exclusively with the 6-speed manual because it’s built for the driver who’ll actually use it — autocross, HPDE days, and back roads. There is an automatic Club, but the full package does not carry over.

Is it worth it?

If the car will ever see a track or you plan to keep it long-term: yes. The package costs far less than buying comparable brakes, forged wheels and seats aftermarket, it’s covered by the factory warranty, and these cars consistently hold their value better than any other ND spec. If the car is a boulevard cruiser, a standard Club or Grand Touring is the smarter buy — and we’ll tell you that in person, too.

Finding one

Allocation is thin region-wide — most stores never stock it. We keep the package on our lot as part of building the Northeast’s deepest Miata inventory, and we can factory-order one in your color when we don’t.
