The Mazda6 is a gorgeous, sophisticated sedan, but for the 2021 model, the sedan is getting the same kind of upgrades that its crossover cousins are getting. You can expect to see the same great styling for which the Mazda6 is known in the 2021 version, but you can also expect improved performance and more features to enhance the driving experience. Plus, there’s a new special edition!

Here’s what we know so far about what’s new for the 2021 Mazda6:

Increased Torque

The 2021 Mazda6 comes with two engine options, both of which are 2.5-liter, four-cylinders. The standard engine puts out 287 horsepower, and the turbocharged option puts out 250 horsepower. For 2021, Mazda has given the sedan a little extra torque on the turbocharged model. With the 2021 sedan, you’ll get 10 extra pounds per feet, or 320 lb-ft. You’ll have to use premium fuel to get that performance though. Fill up with regular and your torque will drop considerably – down to 227 lb-ft.

You’ll get a six-speed automatic transmission, no matter which engine option you choose, which will shift you easily between gears for a smooth ride.

New Features

The interior of the Mazda6 makes it look like a luxury vehicle – something which often earns the model a “best in class” rating. The 2021 model introduces a few more features that add to the luxury feel of the car. For example, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are offered as standard features. On the higher trim level, you get these as wireless features also.

Many other great features are included as standard on the new Mazda6, including safety features like blind spot monitoring, forward collision monitoring, and automated emergency braking.

The Carbon Edition

The Carbon Edition is new for the 2021 Mazda6, and it comes with a polymetal gray exterior and a contrasting red interior. It’s a sleek combo that creates a stunning look. Black trim provides sophisticated accenting. Other exterior features include a gloss black lip spoiler and side mirrors.

The Carbon Edition includes the turbocharged engine as standard, so you get a little more power to match the imposing profile. The special edition is also loaded with features as it sits just below the Signature trim level, which is the highest trim level.

The 2021 Mazda6 continues to deliver all the best features for which the sedan is known, but it offers a few extras to make it an even more alluring drive.
