Other technology available on the base level Mazda CX-5 includes satellite radio, a radio data system, speed-sensitive volume, a voice-activated radio, remote keyless entry, auto-locking doors, and distance-pacing cruise control. Touring With the Touring, you see a few more tech features added. You get Internet access, remote release for the mechanical cargo access, dual-zone automatic temperature control, and remote engine start. You also get additional USB and DC charging ports, and you start having access to many more of the optional features that are available on upper trim levels or in add-on packages. Carbon Edition The Carbon Edition is new for the 2021 Mazda CX-5, and it features an exclusive polymetal gray exterior paired with red upholstery. The Carbon Edition comes with everything you’ll find on the Touring trim, but it adds a few features, including Bose stereo, a power-adjustable passenger seat, a sunroof, and a power liftgate. Grand Touring As you move into the upper trim levels, you can expect to get the best features. Tech features added at this trim level include an upgraded infotainment system with 10 Bose speakers and an amplifier, a key fob with hatch release, and front-zone dual air conditioning. Grand Touring Reserve Expect a few more tweaks on the Grand Touring Reserve to make driving feel a little more luxurious. Tech features added at this level include a heated steering wheel, heated seats, and more points of adjustment for the driver and passenger seats. Signature The Signature trim is the top-level trim, and you can expect to get all the best features at this level. Mazda Ranked Most Reliable Auto Brand for 2020

We’ve always known that Mazda is one of the best and most reliable brands on the market, but this year, we’re proud to see Mazda’s qualities affirmed and celebrated in print. Consumer Reports gave Mazda the top honors in its annual reliability survey for 2020, which was just published. Mazda beat out top brands Toyota and Lexus to take the No. 1 spot. (They came in second and third, respectively.) Lincoln came in last in the survey of 26 brands, thanks to some new SUVs introduced this year. Tesla ranked second-to-last thanks to issues with three of four of its models. The Rankings Explained The Consumer Reports survey is compiled from rankings from its organization members and the vehicles they own. This year, that included more than 300,000 vehicles with model years between 2000 and 2020. The members gave each vehicle a score from 0 to 100. The average brand ranking was between 41 and 60 points. Mazda received a total score of 83 points. That ranking was based on an average reliability score for the automaker’s lineup, not just a particular vehicle. Individual Mazdas were also scored. The MX-5 Miata scored 98 points, the CX-30 scored 95, the CX-3 scored 87, the CX-5 scored 85, the CX-6 scored 80, the CX-9 scored 70, and the CX-3 scored 64. Mazda Features Highlighted Consumer Reports highlighted some of the reasons that Mazda scored so well in the survey. To start, the Japanese automaker has built on a foundation of success. Rather than constantly offering new interior gadgets or advanced transmissions that are untested and can experience numerous problems, Mazda has been building on its successes, offering proven technology and reliable features. You still get advanced technology and luxury style in a Mazda. But everything you get has been thoroughly vetted and assured of the highest quality and consistent performance. When you get new features on a Mazda, you can be sure that it will offer you the performance that it promises. It won’t just be a flashy line item designed to convince you to pay more for the vehicle. Several of Mazda’s competitors fell down on the list for these very reasons. Too many problems with technology caused some popular automakers to drop down the list. Volkswagen, Mini, and Ford joined Lincoln and Tesla in the bottom five ranking brands. Buick and Honda rounded out the top five. Mazda Miata Best Sports Car for the Money

The Mazda Miata has long been one of the best-selling models in the Mazda family – and for good reason! It’s a gorgeous sports car that makes any drive more fun. But the car is not all good looks and a powerhouse engine (it’s not even among the strongest or the fastest) – the Mazda Miata offers an experience unlike any other, and it continues to do that year after year. Here are just a few of the reasons why so many people love the Mazda Miata – and why we think it’s the best sports car out there for the money: Classic Style Sports cars seem to get more and more outrageous in their styling in their attempt to one-up the competition year after year. The Mazda Miata has maintained its style over the years – one that is descended from classic roadsters of the 1960s. When you look at the Miata, you’ll see traces of classics like the Alfa Romeo and the Lotus Elan. But the Miata still stands on its own, with a unique style that holds up year after year. Phenomenal Performance The Mazda Miata isn’t the fastest or the most powerful car out there – the horsepower doesn’t even top 200. But the Miata is finely calibrated for a thrilling ride. The small, low-to-the-ground profile ensures that you feel every bit of your ride. You’ll feel those turns more acutely when you take them, and every rumble of the road will make you feel just how fast you’re going. Seated so close to the windshield, you’ll almost feel like you’re flying when you really get going. Most Miatas are outfitted with a manual transmission that has precise shifting and short gears. You’ll love the way the car shifts, which will add to the spirited nature of your drive. Additionally, the engine is designed to push power to the rear wheels as you drive, so you’ll feel a seamless weight distribution for perfect balance and fast response as you tear down the road. Flexibility Mazda has been making the Miata for a few decades now, and it has continued to improve upon its design while also offering a range of variants to give people just want they want in their model. The years have seen the Miata offer hard and soft tops, convenience features like heated seats and automatic climate control, and improved mechanics like Bilstein shocks or a limited slip differential. By shopping for previously owned Miatas, you can find the perfect combination of model year, trim level, and options to get the ideal configuration. Seacoast Mazda has a large variety of new and previous owned Mazdas, including the much-loved Miata. Visit us today to take a test drive of the Miata to find out what this fun sports car has to offer and why so many people have become its devoted fan over the years. We’re sure you’ll join the ranks of the millions who have come to love the Miata.

Mazda Heroes

Mazda Heroes: Mazda Giving Away 50 Miatas

This year, Mazda is celebrating its 100 th anniversary. Unfortunately, circumstances in 2020 have not led to a very celebratory atmosphere. A global pandemic, massive business closures and layoffs, and political turmoil have all made for a difficult year for many people, and there isn’t a definite end in sight. Yet despite the hardships, there are many who have gone above and beyond what they need to do by supporting others and trying to help lift them up. Some have made masks for frontline workers. Some have created free food distribution programs for their community. Some are going the extra mile in their jobs as nurses or teachers to support families. Mazda is using its anniversary as an opportunity to celebrate these “Mazda heroes” and to give back to them for all they do. It is hosting a contest to recognize the extraordinary people doing amazing work right now, and it will honor 50 of the nominees with a new Mazda MX-5 Miata 100 th Anniversary Special Edition. "We had hoped this time would be filled with moments of celebration and appreciation for our fans, employees and partners,” said Jeff Guyton, president of Mazda North American Operations. “But given the many tragic events of 2020, we decided to express, in another way, our brand's unique heritage of trying to make things better." The 100 th Anniversary Special Edition of the Mazda MX-5 Miata features a distinctive Snowflake White Pearl Mica paint job with a striking Red Nappa leather interior. It includes matching red accents that are inspired by the original R360 Coupe. Special badging is featured on the floor mats, headrests, front fenders, and the key fob. It’s a sporty and stylish vehicle with a special look for the momentous anniversary. It also offers the choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, as well as the choice of a soft top or an RF variant. For the contest, Mazda is looking to honor people who have performed selfless acts or made significant contributions to their community, as well as those who have taken a creative approach to the challenges posed by our current circumstances. You can nominate someone on the Mazda Heroes website now through Oct. 25. You’ll need to create a one-minute video explaining why the person you are nominating deserves to be honored, including how they have “selflessly uplifted the community.” You will also have to upload the video to YouTube. Mazda will select 50 winners to receive the special edition MX-5 Miata, and the winners will be announced on Dec. 2 – just in time for the winter holidays. If you are in love with the new Mazda MX-5 Miata, you don’t have to wait to be nominated or to win. You can treat yourself with the new Miata. Just visit Seacoast Mazda to take a test drive and learn more. Then spread the love by nominating someone you know who has done great things for the community. We’re all in this together, and we need to lift each other up.

2021-Mazda6-Features-Special Editions

The Mazda6 is a gorgeous, sophisticated sedan, but for the 2021 model, the sedan is getting the same kind of upgrades that its crossover cousins are getting. You can expect to see the same great styling for which the Mazda6 is known in the 2021 version, but you can also expect improved performance and more features to enhance the driving experience. Plus, there’s a new special edition! Here’s what we know so far about what’s new for the 2021 Mazda6: Increased Torque The 2021 Mazda6 comes with two engine options, both of which are 2.5-liter, four-cylinders. With the 2021 sedan, you’ll get 10 extra pounds per feet, or 320 lb-ft. You’ll have to use premium fuel to get that performance though. Fill up with regular and your torque will drop considerably – down to 227 lb-ft. You’ll get a six-speed automatic transmission, no matter which engine option you choose, which will shift you easily between gears for a smooth ride. New Features The interior of the Mazda6 makes it look like a luxury vehicle – something which often earns the model a “best in class” rating. The 2021 model introduces a few more features that add to the luxury feel of the car. For example, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are offered as standard features. On the higher trim level, you get these as wireless features also. Many other great features are included as standard on the new Mazda6, including safety features like blind spot monitoring, forward collision monitoring, and automated emergency braking. The Carbon Edition The Carbon Edition is new for the 2021 Mazda6, and it comes with a polymetal gray exterior and a contrasting red interior. It’s a sleek combo that creates a stunning look. Black trim provides sophisticated accenting. Other exterior features include a gloss black lip spoiler and side mirrors. The Carbon Edition includes the turbocharged engine as standard, so you get a little more power to match the imposing profile. The special edition is also loaded with features as it sits just below the Signature trim level, which is the highest trim level. Mazda-MX-30-EV

Mazda Starts Production of the MX-30 EV

Electric vehicles are becoming more popular as more consumers are realizing the need for environmentally friendly automobiles and as electronic technology has advanced. You can drive longer on a single charge, and you can find charging ports in more places, making electric vehicles more desirable. Plus, you can earn tax credits for driving electric, and you’ll save a lot on gas. Previously, Mazda enthusiasts weren’t able to take advantage of this technology, but all that is changing. Soon, Mazda fans will be able to buy the first Mazda electric vehicle, the MX-30 EV, a stylish and sophisticated SUV. Here’s what we know so far about this exciting new electric SUV: Electric Technology Mazda’s new electric technology is being called the “e-Skyactiv” electric powertrain technology. The powertrain is a front-wheel drive system that puts out the equivalent of 143 horsepower (107kW). The battery is a 35.5kW lithium-ion battery, which means you’ll be able to easily charge it on a network of electric charging ports. The battery is capable of AC charging at 6.6kW or of DC charging at up to 50kW with the CHAdeMO or CCS standard. The charging options ensure that you have greater flexibility to be able to charge the SUV whenever (and wherever) is needed. With DC charging, the battery can go from 0 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes. Driving Range One of the most important questions that buyers have when considering electric vehicles is how far it can travel on a single charge. After all, you don’t want to be constantly charging the vehicle, and you never want to get stuck in a place where you can’t easily charge it (such as when you’re on a road trip). The good news for Mazda buyers is that the new MX-30 EV has a range of 200 kilometers (or 124 miles). That’s plenty to handle your daily commute and then some, as well as longer, weekend trips. Mazda said it is also working on a version of the MX-30 EV that will have a range extender. The model would pair a rotary engine with the electric motor to increase the driving range between charging. Style The new MX-30 EV will have a bold yet streamlined style. Mazda says that “its uncompromisingly simple styling emphasizes the MX-30’s beauty.” There is an aerodynamic design and clean lines, creating a styling dynamic that is up-to-the-minute. There is no pillar between the doors, which open “barn door” style. The front door has to be opened in order to access the half, rear door. Right now, it’s not clear when the MX-30 EV will be available in the United States. Mazda says the SUV will go on sale in Europe in the fall. Auto industry insiders speculate the SUV will go on sale in the U.S. later in the year or early in 2021. Automotive regulations seem to be determining the release date. When the MX-30EV does go on sale, you can expect to find it at Seacoast Mazda. We’ll be to help you learn all about this exciting new electric vehicle!

2020 Mazda CX-9

2020 Mazda CX-9 Improves Safety Ratings with New Headlights

The Mazda CX-9 has always been a safe car. But improvements can always be made to be better. That’s exactly what Mazda did this past winter. It made modifications to the headlights on the CX-9 to improve the SUV’s overall safety rating. Now, it’s a Top Safety Pick Plus by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. A Closer Look at the Safety Ratings The IIHS previously rated the 2020 Mazda CX-9 was rated a Top Safety Pick, which is already very good. The SUV earned ratings of “Good” – the highest ranking possible – for all crash testing, including small overlap front for the driver and passenger side, moderate overlap front, and side. It also received Good rankings for roof strength, head restraints, and seats. The one “negative” mark on the scorecard for the CX-9 was a “Marginal” rating for the headlights. Mazda upgraded the headlights, and now they are rated as “Good.” Updated Headlights Mazda updated the CX-9 to have curve-adaptive headlights. Previously, the headlights were static. The new headlights create improved visibility, which has earned the CX-9 the improved safety rating. In addition to updating the headlights on the CX-9, Mazda has also updated the optional headlights on the 2020 Mazda3 sedan and hatchback. Both vehicles were already rated a Top Safety Pick Plus by the IIHS, which is the highest safety rating. Dating for the Updates Mazda updated the headlights on the CX-9 starting in December 2019. What that means is that there are 2020 Mazda CX-9 models for sale that have the older headlights, and there are some models for sale with the newer headlights. You aren’t likely to notice the difference just by looking at the headlights. What you need to look for, instead, is the date of manufacture. You can find this by looking on the inside of the driver door. There should be a sticker there with information about the vehicle, including the date of manufacture. Look for vehicles that were produced in 2020 to be sure that you have the newer, safer headlights. Other Safety Features The 2020 Mazda CX-9 has numerous other safety features that make it a great choice. Daytime running lights are standard, as are blind-spot detection and front-crash detection systems for vehicles and pedestrians. Optional equipment includes lane departure warning and lane departure prevention. If you are looking for a family vehicle, or you just prioritize safety when you are evaluating potential new vehicles, the 2020 Mazda CX-9 has much to offer. Not only is it one of the safest vehicles on the road, but it is also a gorgeous SUV that handles well and that offers plenty of comfort and convenience features to make driving fun. Visit us at Seacoast Mazda to check out the 2020 CX-9 and to take it for a test drive. You’ll fall in love with this stylish SUV, and you’ll love the way it drives. You’ll also feel confident driving it, knowing that it has the highest safety rating possible. Visit us today to learn more!
