What are the Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE Safety Features?

Modern vehicles do much more than provide transportation. Advanced driver assistance systems now help drivers identify hazards, avoid collisions, and stay aware of their surroundings. Mazda's i-ACTIVSENSE safety features are designed to improve driver awareness and help reduce the risk of accidents through a combination of cameras, radar sensors, and intelligent safety technologies. Whether you're shopping for a new Mazda or simply want to understand the technology in your vehicle, here's what you should know about Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE. What Is Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE? Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE is a suite of advanced safety and driver-assistance technologies designed to help drivers recognize potential hazards and react more effectively. The system uses cameras, radar sensors, and monitoring technologies to track road conditions, nearby vehicles, pedestrians, and lane markings. The goal of Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE is to enhance driver awareness, help prevent accidents when possible, and reduce the severity of collisions when they cannot be avoided. How Does Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE Work? Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE continuously monitors the area around your vehicle using a combination of: Forward-facing cameras Millimeter-wave radar sensors Vehicle monitoring systems Intelligent software and safety controls When the system detects a potential hazard, it can provide visual alerts, audible warnings, or assist with braking and vehicle control depending on the situation. What Active Safety Features Are Included in Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE? Mazda divides its i-ACTIVSENSE technologies into active safety systems and pre-crash safety systems. Active safety features help drivers identify and avoid potential dangers before an accident occurs.Common Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE active safety features include: Adaptive Front-Lighting System Mazda's Adaptive Front-Lighting System adjusts headlight direction based on steering input, helping drivers see better around curves and corners during nighttime driving. High Beam Control High Beam Control automatically switches between high and low beams when other vehicles are detected, improving visibility without distracting other drivers. Mazda Radar Cruise Control Mazda Radar Cruise Control maintains a preset speed while monitoring traffic ahead. The system can automatically adjust speed to maintain a safe following distance. Rear Vehicle Monitoring System This feature helps detect vehicles approaching from the rear or traveling in adjacent lanes, improving awareness during lane changes and merging. Lane Departure Warning System The Lane Departure Warning System alerts drivers when the vehicle begins drifting outside its lane without a turn signal being activated. Forward Obstruction Warning System This technology monitors the road ahead and warns drivers when a potential collision risk is detected. What Pre-Crash Safety Features Are Included in Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE? Pre-crash safety technologies are designed to reduce collision severity when an accident becomes difficult to avoid. Smart City Brake Support Smart City Brake Support monitors traffic and obstacles in front of the vehicle. If a collision risk is detected and the driver does not react in time, the system can automatically apply braking assistance. Acceleration Control for Automatic Transmissions This feature helps reduce unintended acceleration caused by accidentally pressing the accelerator pedal when obstacles are detected nearby. These systems work together to help minimize the impact of collisions and improve overall vehicle safety. What Are the Benefits of Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE Safety Features? The benefits of Mazda i-ACTIVSENSE include: Improved driver awareness Enhanced visibility in changing conditions Better monitoring of surrounding traffic Reduced risk of lane departure incidents Additional braking assistance in emergency situations Increased confidence behind the wheel While these technologies support safer driving, drivers should always remain attentive and maintain control of their vehicle. 2017 Mazda3 G-Vectoring Control

2017 Mazda3 G-Vectoring Control Provides Innovative Driving Experience

New for the 2017 model year, Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control is incorporated into the SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS technology suite to introduce a new level of driver-centric performance. Here’s what you need to know about G-Vectoring Control in the 2017 Mazda3. How does Mazda G-Vectoring Control work? In order to deliver a next-level driving experience, Mazda G-Vectoring Control uses the engine along with the steering and throttle inputs and suspension responses to refine the overall performance. “Conceptually, it’s really simple. Every time you make a steering wheel input, it reduces the engine torque a ridiculously small amount. Enough to shift a little bit of extra load on the front tires and that extra weight on the front tires sharpens the response, gives better steering feedback and a more natural cornering posture.” - Dave Coleman, development engineer at Mazda G-Vectoring Control reduces the need for subtle steering adjustments and improves handling. This results in an easier behind-the-wheel experience that leaves drivers feeling more energetic and refreshed. The change can also be felt by passengers because there is less sway during turns and lane changes. Overall, Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control is specifically designed to enhance rider comfort and allow the car to respond to the driver’s actions just as intended. Mazda Feature Highlight New Soul Red Crystal Body Color_o

What is Mazda's New Soul Red Crystal Body Color?

Mazda Feature Highlight: New Soul Red Crystal Body Color Mazda is continuing to expand on its KODO – Soul of Motion design system through the creation of an all-new body color. Soul Red Crystal will make its debut early next year on the upcoming 2017 Mazda CX-5 before being added to other new and existing Mazda models. But what makes Soul Red Crystal so unique and impressive? Let’s take a closer look and find out. Developing Soul Red Crystal Within the purview of its KODO – Soul of Motion design system, Mazda used color as an element of form. Using that belief, Mazda continues to work on developing new colors – such as the upcoming Soul Red Crystal – that highlight beauty and quality of its KODO – Soul of Motion designs. Soul Red Crystal is the first of these new body colors. It is an advanced version of the Soul Red exterior body color that balances vibrant energy and vividness with clear depth and gloss. Soul Red Crystal also boasts 20 percent greater color saturation and 50 percent more depth than the original Soul Red, meaning it has a fresher and more lustrous transparence. What Makes Soul Red Crystal Special? Soul Red Crystal is made up of a simple three-layer structure that includes clear, translucent and reflective coats. Its translucent layer features a newly developed and highly saturated red pigment that creates a richer red than ever before. It also features light-absorbing flakes that intensify shaded areas and make it possible to achieve a depth of color that used to require two layers. What Does the Future Hold? Once Soul Red Crystal is fully implemented across the 2017 Mazda lineup, the company has said it will continue to develop new colors and paint technologies in an effort to “be a brand that maintains a strong emotional connection with customers.” Stay tuned to the Seacoast Mazda blog for all of the latest updates. 2017 Mazda CX-9 Release Date and New Features The arrival of the long-awaited 2017 Mazda CX-9 is almost upon us. More information about a release date and new features will be arriving shortly, but there are some things we already know. The redesign for the 2017 CX-9 is expected to be a subtle one as the 2016 model year CX-9 received quite the overhaul from previous years, but that doesn’t mean it’s not getting at least a slight makeover with some brand new state-of-the-art features. 2017 Mazda CX-9 New Features As we mentioned, it sounds like the 2017 Mazda CX-9 isn’t going to be a completely different vehicle than the 2016 model year version. 2017 Mazda6 demonstrating G-Vectoring Control

What is Mazda’s G-Vectoring Control?

New Feature Highlight: G-Vectoring Control Mazda is going all-in this new model year on its motto of Jinba-Ittai, which roughly translates to “person and horse as one body.” Mazda is endeavoring to create a more harmonious relationship between vehicle and driver, mirroring the relationships that formed throughout history between horses and their riders. The first step in reaching that goal is the implementation of a new feature called G-Vectoring Control (GVC), which is the first in a series of new-generation vehicle motion control technologies collectively known as SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS. We realize none of those of those words may mean anything to you, so we’re going to highlight exactly what G-Vectoring Control means for you as a driver. TL;DR Mazda's G-Vectoring Control (GVC) is a smart technology that subtly adjusts engine torque based on your steering input, making the car respond more naturally and predictably. It's the first piece of Mazda's SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS system, debuting on the 2017 Mazda6 and 2017 Mazda3. The result: smoother rides, fewer steering corrections, less passenger wobble, and better handling in rain or snow. Key Takeaways GVC is the first-ever system to vary engine torque based on steering input, optimizing weight distribution across all four wheels. It's part of Mazda's broader SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS platform, rolling out across the entire model lineup. Debuts on the 2017 Mazda6, followed by the 2017 Mazda3. Reduces unconscious steering corrections, giving drivers more confidence and a more intuitive feel behind the wheel. Minimizes passenger wobble by smoothing out acceleration forces during turns. Improves handling and stability in adverse conditions like rain and snow. Supports Mazda's Jinba-Ittai philosophy of creating a seamless connection between driver and vehicle. New Levels of Control, Comfort and Connectedness The goal behind SKYACTIV-VEHICLE DYNAMICS is to provide integrated control of the engine, transmission, chassis and body to create a sense of connectedness between a vehicle and its operator. G-Vectoring Control is the first of the series to be rolled out. Mazda has announced it will be applied to its entire model range, starting with the 2017 Mazda6 in the U.S., followed by the 2017 Mazda3. GVC uses the engine to augment the performance of the chassis. The new feature is the first control system in the world to vary engine torque in response to steering inputs in order to provide integrated control of lateral and longitudinal acceleration forces and optimize the vertical load on each wheel for a smooth and efficient ride. What Are the Benefits of G-Vectoring Control? We mentioned above that GVC optimizes the vertical load on each wheel. Doing so brings the movements of the car more in line with what the driver is trying to accomplish. This reduces the need for steering corrections, especially the corrections a driver makes without knowing it. This provides traction that creates an increased level in confidence for any driver while making the act of driving more enjoyable. But it’s not just the driver that feels the effects of G-Vectoring Control. Passengers feel it, too. Or, more accurately in this case, don’t feel it. That’s because GVC reduces the amount of wobbling a rider is subjected to by smoothing out the acceleration forces acting upon the vehicle. How Does G-Vectoring Control Improve Safety? G-Vectoring Control isn’t just about comfort. It’s about safety, too. GVC greatly improves a vehicle’s handling and stability in all circumstances, including snow, rain and other less-than-ideal road conditions. All signs point to the 2017 Mazda6 being released in September 2016. We keep our online inventory up-to-date so you’ll know exactly when we get it here at Seacoast Mazda. We also have a huge selection of quality pre-owned vehicles of all makes and models. If you have any questions about anything at all, feel free to give us a call or shoot us an email.
