Beginning in the second half of 2017, Mazda will offer a diesel engine in the all-new 2017 Mazda CX-5. In terms of new exterior features, the 2017 CX-5 has a lower center of gravity and a wider front and rear tread when compared to previous models to give the new CX-5 a more powerful stance and improved handling. The new CX-5 also has thinner, lower-placed headlamps for improved visibility. The interior has been completely redone, with Mazda aiming for what they’re calling a human-centered ambience. That goal is being accomplished by improving seat quality and comfort, repositioning features like the floor console and shift knob for improved access, increasing the passenger space and cargo capacity and much, much more. 2017 Mazda CX-5 New Powertrain Features The 2017 Mazda CX-5 will come with the choice between three engines depending on market – a SKYACTIV-D 2.2 clean diesel engine or the SKYACTIV-G 2.0 or 2.5 direct-injection gasoline engines. These engines will be paired with either a six-speed SKYACTIV-DRIVE automatic transmission or a six-speed SKYACTIV-MT manual transmission. Seacoast Family Food Pantry The Seacoast Family Food Pantry, now known as Gather, supports the entire Seacoast area, including Greenland, Hampton, Hampton Falls, Kittery (ME), New Castle, Newington, North Hampton, Portsmouth, Rye, Seabrook and Stratham. But they need our support if they’re going to succeed in their mission. And while food donations are always needed, it’s important to remember that donations of time and money are just as valuable. Operation Blessing Operation Blessing takes the idea of a food pantry one step further. Not only do they provide food to those in need, they also provide furniture, clothing and household necessities. They give out as much as 2,000 pounds of food per week, so donations are always needed to keep up with the demand. Salvation Army of Portsmouth The Salvation Army of Portsmouth offers food, shelter, clothing and other emergency services to those who need it most during times when it seems like there’s no hope. Surely we’ve all given some spare change or a couple of dollars to the bell-ringers each year, but let’s not forget there’s so much more we can do.
