2021 CX-9 Carbon Edition Spotlight

The 2021 Mazda CX-9 has a lot going for it. It’s three rows, comes with responsive performance, the latest tech, and a nice looking exterior and interior. However, the Carbon Edition comes with a few more bells and whistles that are worth talking about. The Carbon Edition is mostly cosmetic, adding to the touring trim already present on the Mazda CX-9 with new styling cues. Let’s take a look at some of these cosmetic changes and see which ones are the best for you. The Exterior Trim The outside of the Mazda CX-9 Carbon Edition comes with a Polymetal Gray paint job and gloss black accents that just look amazing. The look is finished with 20-inch black metallic wheels, and the changes elevate the entire car from ordinary to extraordinary. There are also gloss black door mirrors and a glossed black front grille. If you’ve ever wanted to cruise down the streets with a ‘back in black style’ then the Carbon Edition for the Mazda CX-9 is the best choice for you. The Interior Trim The interior of the car has gotten an update as well, with a unique mixture of black and red. Red leather sets and black trim adorne the seats of the car. The door panels and handles also look the same, giving a unique look for the entire car. The Carbon Edition isn’t just about cosmetic changes, but also practical changes. The car comes with heated and ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and LED lights and accents. The Carbon Edition helps to elevate the car from something that simply looks good, but also something that is very fun and interesting to drive. Other Changes With The Carbon Edition The Carbon Edition comes with other changes to the standard Mazda CX-9 as well. There is an updated infotainment system, a larger HUD screen, and the ability to wirelessly charge your devices right by the gear selector. Now this leads to the main question. Do you need the Carbon Edition of the Mazda CX-9? You might be confused about it, especially if you have the regular version of the car. Well, the Carbon Edition has updated looks for both the exterior and interior, so if you like the new looks that is a point in the car’s favor. Additionally, the practicality of the Carbon Edition is something that you need to think about. Do you want the comfort of the heated seats and steering wheel? Are you interested in LED accents? Before you put money down on a Mazda CX-9 Carbon Edition, make sure to come to our dealership and ask your questions. 2021 Mazda3 sedan compared to Mazda3 hatchback.

Top 5 Differences Between the Mazda 3 Sedan vs Hatchback

The Mazda 3 comes in both hatchback and sedan varieties, and you need to figure out the differences whenever you select your version of the car. What is the difference between The Mazda3 sedan vs. hatchback anyway? A sedan is defined as a ‘passenger car with a separate trunk, so if your car can fit four people and has a trunk that is separate from the main area, it is a sedan. Sedans offer less cargo room, but do have the advantage of being slimmer and more compact when compared to Hatchbacks A Hatchback has either two or four doors and then a flip up tailgate that would lead to a cargo area. Lifting the cargo area was a lot like lifting a hatch in the early days, so the name was born from that comparison. If your SUV has a separate trunk, then it is a sedan. If the trunk is part of the car, it is a hatchback. Here are the top five differences and selling points between the two types of vehicles. 1. The Cargo Space The hatchback body can carry larger pieces of gear and cargo, and most of the time you can fold down the passenger side seats to make even more room. They might even have a pull out tray in the bottom of the floor for your valuables and other items. Hatchbacks have better cargo space and will always be able to carry larger items. A sedan’s trunk size is limited by the height of the rear package tray, and you will get less storage space inside of the sedan’s trunk than you would in a hatchback. It’s perfect if you plan to use the sedan to just carry minimal items. 2. The Differences Between Prices When it comes to Mazda3 sedan vs. hatchback prices, a sedan is often less expensive than a hatchback, although you are often paying for less features. A hatchback might have Apple CarPlay, a climate system, and heated rear seats for the more expensive price. 3. The Shape of the Car Sedans are often divided into three sections, with the front end of the car, the back end, and the trunk. This results in a smaller and slimmer car overall. While a Mazda3 hatchback only has two sections to result in a much bigger and wider car. 4. Better Window Visibility Hatchbacks have wider windows in their rear, giving you much better visibility as the driver. Sedans generally have much smaller windows, but don’t require an extra window wiper to be maintained and looked after. 5. Extra Security Finally, the Mazda3 sedan has extra security because no one can see inside of your trunk. You can easily put away valuables that you do not want anyone to see, and the truck is harder to break into. Because the Mazda3 hatchback is connected to your car, there’s less space to hide your stuff and it is easier for thieves to break in. Still, no matter what type of car you purchase, you will certainly find one that suits your needs, and that’s the true benefit of getting a Mazda 3.

Updated SkyActiv X Engine

This car engine debuted in the 2019 Mazda 3, and the SkyActiv X Engine merges both the benefits and design of the diesel and gasoline engines. If you want to see the benefits of both the diesel and gasoline energies, all with a knocking system. Normally whenever you hear knocking underneath your engine, you should feel concern and perhaps pop the hood to see what’s underneath. However, the SkyActiv X Engine is designed around knocking. Typically whenever your engine knocks; the mixture of air and fuel is triggered when it isn’t supposed to. However, this engine is designed to harness the pressure of that without damaging your engine or forcing you to hear knocking over and over. The Benefits of Combustion Ignition Diesel engines run like this, causing a controlled explosion inside the combustion chamber to make the engine run. This takes advantage of the movement of the cylinders of the engine, and makes diesel engines very efficient. However, the combustion ignition causes the diesel engine to burn slower than gas, which is what SkyActiv X tries to counter. The combustion ignition of a diesel engine is merged with the high-RPM showing of a gas engine to give the best of both worlds. No matter where you are in the RPM range, the engine pulls strongly and you get a smoother ride. The Spark Plug Gas engines need a spark plug to get the process going, and diesel-gas hybrids are still reliant on spark plugs. The SkyActiv X engine uses spark plugs like a switch, helping to make the engine go much faster and run more efficiently. The engine can switch back and forth between the spark controlled compression ignition and then using the spark plug to kick off the process. The spark ignition process is used whenever conditions are less-than-ideal, and otherwise you can use the compression ignition. Superchargers Finally, the SkyActiv X engine uses a supercharger to move enough air into the engine to keep up a high RPM. The SkyActiv X engine also uses a braking regeneration system to lighten the engine load. The excess braking energy is then stored in a capacitor, and that excess energy is then cycled into the headlights, radio, and other minor functions of the car. If you want your vehicle to be as efficient as it can be, you should be using a SkyActiv X Engine. Better For The Environment Finally, the engine is much better for the environment, using a ‘well to wheel’ approach that helps to reduce carbon emissions and help to save the planet. The hybrid combustion approach not only gives the car more power, but also helps to improve fuel efficiency and reduce fuel emissions. In summary, the Mazda SkyActiv X Engine is a great engine that can make any car it runs in much better for it. If you have the chance to grab a car with this engine in it, then do so, because you will not regret driving around with this engine under the hood.

Mazda Ranked Most Reliable Auto Brand for 2020

We’ve always known that Mazda is one of the best and most reliable brands on the market, but this year, we’re proud to see Mazda’s qualities affirmed and celebrated in print. Consumer Reports gave Mazda the top honors in its annual reliability survey for 2020, which was just published. Mazda beat out top brands Toyota and Lexus to take the No. 1 spot. (They came in second and third, respectively.) Lincoln came in last in the survey of 26 brands, thanks to some new SUVs introduced this year. Tesla ranked second-to-last thanks to issues with three of four of its models. The Rankings Explained The Consumer Reports survey is compiled from rankings from its organization members and the vehicles they own. This year, that included more than 300,000 vehicles with model years between 2000 and 2020. The members gave each vehicle a score from 0 to 100. The average brand ranking was between 41 and 60 points. Mazda received a total score of 83 points. That ranking was based on an average reliability score for the automaker’s lineup, not just a particular vehicle. Individual Mazdas were also scored. The MX-5 Miata scored 98 points, the CX-30 scored 95, the CX-3 scored 87, the CX-5 scored 85, the CX-6 scored 80, the CX-9 scored 70, and the CX-3 scored 64. Mazda Features Highlighted Consumer Reports highlighted some of the reasons that Mazda scored so well in the survey. To start, the Japanese automaker has built on a foundation of success. Rather than constantly offering new interior gadgets or advanced transmissions that are untested and can experience numerous problems, Mazda has been building on its successes, offering proven technology and reliable features. You still get advanced technology and luxury style in a Mazda. But everything you get has been thoroughly vetted and assured of the highest quality and consistent performance. When you get new features on a Mazda, you can be sure that it will offer you the performance that it promises. It won’t just be a flashy line item designed to convince you to pay more for the vehicle. Several of Mazda’s competitors fell down on the list for these very reasons. Too many problems with technology caused some popular automakers to drop down the list. Volkswagen, Mini, and Ford joined Lincoln and Tesla in the bottom five ranking brands. Buick and Honda rounded out the top five. Finding the Perfect Mazda for You Now is the perfect time to shop for a new Mazda. 2021 models are available, and you can find many of Mazda’s exceptional and highly reliable previously owned models at Seacoast Mazda. Mazda Miata Best Sports Car for the Money

The Mazda Miata has long been one of the best-selling models in the Mazda family – and for good reason! It’s a gorgeous sports car that makes any drive more fun. But the car is not all good looks and a powerhouse engine (it’s not even among the strongest or the fastest) – the Mazda Miata offers an experience unlike any other, and it continues to do that year after year. Here are just a few of the reasons why so many people love the Mazda Miata – and why we think it’s the best sports car out there for the money: Classic Style Sports cars seem to get more and more outrageous in their styling in their attempt to one-up the competition year after year. The Mazda Miata has maintained its style over the years – one that is descended from classic roadsters of the 1960s. When you look at the Miata, you’ll see traces of classics like the Alfa Romeo and the Lotus Elan. But the Miata still stands on its own, with a unique style that holds up year after year. Phenomenal Performance The Mazda Miata isn’t the fastest or the most powerful car out there – the horsepower doesn’t even top 200. But the Miata is finely calibrated for a thrilling ride. The small, low-to-the-ground profile ensures that you feel every bit of your ride. You’ll feel those turns more acutely when you take them, and every rumble of the road will make you feel just how fast you’re going. Seated so close to the windshield, you’ll almost feel like you’re flying when you really get going. Most Miatas are outfitted with a manual transmission that has precise shifting and short gears. You’ll love the way the car shifts, which will add to the spirited nature of your drive. Additionally, the engine is designed to push power to the rear wheels as you drive, so you’ll feel a seamless weight distribution for perfect balance and fast response as you tear down the road. Flexibility Mazda has been making the Miata for a few decades now, and it has continued to improve upon its design while also offering a range of variants to give people just want they want in their model. The years have seen the Miata offer hard and soft tops, convenience features like heated seats and automatic climate control, and improved mechanics like Bilstein shocks or a limited slip differential. By shopping for previously owned Miatas, you can find the perfect combination of model year, trim level, and options to get the ideal configuration. Seacoast Mazda has a large variety of new and previous owned Mazdas, including the much-loved Miata. Visit us today to take a test drive of the Miata to find out what this fun sports car has to offer and why so many people have become its devoted fan over the years. We’re sure you’ll join the ranks of the millions who have come to love the Miata.

Mazda Heroes: Mazda Giving Away 50 Miatas

This year, Mazda is celebrating its 100 th anniversary. Unfortunately, circumstances in 2020 have not led to a very celebratory atmosphere. A global pandemic, massive business closures and layoffs, and political turmoil have all made for a difficult year for many people, and there isn’t a definite end in sight. Yet despite the hardships, there are many who have gone above and beyond what they need to do by supporting others and trying to help lift them up. Some have made masks for frontline workers. Some have created free food distribution programs for their community. Some are going the extra mile in their jobs as nurses or teachers to support families. Mazda is using its anniversary as an opportunity to celebrate these “Mazda heroes” and to give back to them for all they do. It is hosting a contest to recognize the extraordinary people doing amazing work right now, and it will honor 50 of the nominees with a new Mazda MX-5 Miata 100 th Anniversary Special Edition. "We had hoped this time would be filled with moments of celebration and appreciation for our fans, employees and partners,” said Jeff Guyton, president of Mazda North American Operations. “But given the many tragic events of 2020, we decided to express, in another way, our brand's unique heritage of trying to make things better." The 100 th Anniversary Special Edition of the Mazda MX-5 Miata features a distinctive Snowflake White Pearl Mica paint job with a striking Red Nappa leather interior. It includes matching red accents that are inspired by the original R360 Coupe. Special badging is featured on the floor mats, headrests, front fenders, and the key fob. It’s a sporty and stylish vehicle with a special look for the momentous anniversary. It also offers the choice of a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission, as well as the choice of a soft top or an RF variant. For the contest, Mazda is looking to honor people who have performed selfless acts or made significant contributions to their community, as well as those who have taken a creative approach to the challenges posed by our current circumstances. You can nominate someone on the Mazda Heroes website now through Oct. 25. You’ll need to create a one-minute video explaining why the person you are nominating deserves to be honored, including how they have “selflessly uplifted the community.” You will also have to upload the video to YouTube. Mazda will select 50 winners to receive the special edition MX-5 Miata, and the winners will be announced on Dec. 2 – just in time for the winter holidays. With DC charging, the battery can go from 0 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes. Driving Range One of the most important questions that buyers have when considering electric vehicles is how far it can travel on a single charge. After all, you don’t want to be constantly charging the vehicle, and you never want to get stuck in a place where you can’t easily charge it (such as when you’re on a road trip). The good news for Mazda buyers is that the new MX-30 EV has a range of 200 kilometers (or 124 miles). That’s plenty to handle your daily commute and then some, as well as longer, weekend trips. Mazda said it is also working on a version of the MX-30 EV that will have a range extender. The model would pair a rotary engine with the electric motor to increase the driving range between charging. Style The new MX-30 EV will have a bold yet streamlined style. Mazda says that “its uncompromisingly simple styling emphasizes the MX-30’s beauty.” There is an aerodynamic design and clean lines, creating a styling dynamic that is up-to-the-minute. There is no pillar between the doors, which open “barn door” style. The front door has to be opened in order to access the half, rear door. Right now, it’s not clear when the MX-30 EV will be available in the United States. Mazda says the SUV will go on sale in Europe in the fall. Auto industry insiders speculate the SUV will go on sale in the U.S. later in the year or early in 2021. Automotive regulations seem to be determining the release date. When the MX-30EV does go on sale, you can expect to find it at Seacoast Mazda. We’ll be to help you learn all about this exciting new electric vehicle!
